Douglas G. Wertens' Obituary
Douglas G. Wertens, of Fayetteville, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at the age of 71. He was born January 26, 1941 in Chicago, IL., to parents William Wertens and Viola (Blyth) Wertens. Douglas was an accomplished botanist and enjoyed growing orchids and many varieties of roses. He also was a model train enthusiast.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Douglas is survived by three children, daughter Susan Wertens, of Arizona, son Kevin Wertens of Rhode Island, and daughter Leilani Wertens of Chicago, IL., former wife, Connie Wertens, two brothers, Bill Wertens, of Rogers, AR., Ron Wertens, of Bakersfield, CA., and a sister, Mary Brent, of Colorado Springs, CO., as well as three grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service in Chicago, IL at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home & Memorial Crematory, Fayetteville, AR.
