Duane Curtis Allen's Obituary
Duane Curtis Allen, age 91, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away on September 1, 2023, at Willard Walker Hospice Home. He was born on December 28, 1931, in Garden City, Kansas, to Everett Allen and Verda Raymond Allen. Duane was a U.S. Navy Veteran who served during the Korean War. He married Rebecca Bennett on March 21, 1987, in San Diego, California. Duane worked most of his life as a locksmith, starting out at San Diego State University before going into business on his own. He attended New Heights Church in Fayetteville and was a former member of the Optimist Club.
Duane restored classic cars from Corvettes, Volkswagen Beetles, and a Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. He was meticulous in his restorations, taking them down to the frame and making sure there was no rust anywhere.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Barbara Percival, and Nadine Bliss. Duane is survived by his wife, Rebecca, cousins, Jim and Pat Huntsinger, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Fayetteville.
