Duane Dooley's Obituary
Duane LaVern Dooley , 88 of Rogers Arkansas went home to be with the Lord on February 1, 2025.
He was the first of three children born in Waterloo, Iowa to Wilbur L. Dooley and Erma Mae Jones.
He was so talented and was never fearful of trying anything. In his early years he utilized his knowledge of being raised by a mechanic and a homemaker and developed a passion for the automobile. He joined the United States Coast Guard and was so proud to serve his country. He owned a Gulf gas station, he worked for years at Chuck's Automotive in Bakersfield, CA. He spent countless hours under the hood of just about any type of vehicle. His love of fixing and rebuilding blossomed to include woodworking and home building. He made many beautiful pieces of furniture and built three homes. He decided to obtain his teaching degree and taught auto mechanics and wood shop at both High School and College levels for the rest of his working career. He was an excellent teacher.
His favorite sport was basketball. He played in high school and as a young adult. He was an excellent ice skater and as a boy often would speed skate. He loved to waterski. His favorite car was Corvette. He loved dogs, especially the labradors or dachshund breeds. He loved the outdoors and was always looking for a reason to fish, hunt, snowmobile, hike or camp. He loved his family dearly and had an amazing sense of humor. He was the life of the party.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Frances Dooley and his sister, Barbara Jean Keith.
Duane is survived by one brother, Merle Dooley and wife Jeanie Dooley of Terrell, TX; one son, David Dooley and wife Laura, of Fresno, CA; one daughter, Karen Ramos and husband Brian of Rogers, AR; grandchildren Carson Fackler of Camp Nelson, CA, Sean Ramos and wife Chelsea of Seligman, MO, Michelle Shade and husband Ricky of Rogers, AR; Leah Dooley and David Dooley of Fresno, CA; great-grandchildren Aaron, Olivia, Andrew, Russell, Raegan and Brooks and several nieces and nephews.
