Dwight Thomas Walker's Obituary
Dwight Thomas Walker, 68 of Fayetteville, AR passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012 in Fayetteville after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born December 29, 1943 in Joplin, MO, to Raymond and Clella Mae (Wilkinson) Walker.
Dwight held to a high work ethic with values based on hard work and diligence. From his teenage years until retirement in 2006, he was never without a job.
He was employed as a service technician from 1975 to 1980 at Dan Stanley Ford, in Joplin, Missouri. In 1978 at the Ford “National Hands On Contest”, he received an award which ranked him among the top four percent of the service technicians across the country. From 1980 until 2006, he was plant manager at Light & Sight in Springdale.
He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed woodworking. He was a good neighbor, mowing yards, picking up trash containers from the curbs, and lending a hand and tools with odd jobs.
He was a member of Christian Life Cathedral in Fayetteville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant sisters.
He is survived by his wife; Judy, two sons; Doug Walker of Cordova,TN, Brad Walker of Siloam Springs, AR, two brothers; Paul Walker and wife Maggie of VA, Mickey Walker of KS, stepchildren; Matt Eilers and wife Marcela of TX, Shelly Spencer and husband Donnie of Bentonville, AR, Tim Eilers and wife Juanita of TX, , and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 27th from 5:00 PM until 7:00 at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, September 28th in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Dixon and Pastor Mark Clinard officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
