E. Scott Callison's Obituary
E. Scott Callison, 45, of Goshen, AR, passed away, Thursday, October 25, 2012, at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, surrounded by family and friends. He was born November 5, 1966 in Tulsa, OK to Ed and Glendy (Long) Callison. He became a child of God on April 6, 1975.
Scott grew up in Cleveland, OK, graduating from Cleveland High School in 1985. A 1990 graduate of Oklahoma State University, he was a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity. An accomplished snow and water-skier, he was a member of the OSU Ski Team and enjoyed summer employment as Ski Director with Dallas YMCA’s Camp Grady Spruce on Possum Kingdom Lake in Texas. In Tulsa, he served as Special Events Coordinator for Great Plains Coca-Cola, a deacon of the First Christian Church and a member of the YMCA Camp Takatoka Board. He retired as a manager of Home Depot in Fayetteville and was a member of the Central United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Irma Horne, sister-in-law, Laura Dawson; and two nieces, Adelaide Suzanne Davison and Celia Grace Dollins; his beloved grandparents, Helyn and Bill Dunn of Anadarko, OK, and Joy and Doss Callison of Pryor, OK. Also preceding him in death are his beloved dogs, Aspen and Breckenridge and his first horse, Copper.
He is survived by his wife, Leslie Horne Callison; one son, Carver Scott Callison of the home lovingly built by Scott; his parents, Ed and Glendy Callison of Cleveland, OK; one sister, Courtney Davison and husband, Chuck, of The Woodlands, TX; and father-in-law, Roy Horne, of Fayetteville; also, Brian and Lora Horne, Dudley Dawson, Bennett and Betsy Horne, Steve and Cara Dollins, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 2nd from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at The Central United Methodist Chapel.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, November 3rd at Central United Methodist Church with Reverend Paul Woodhouse officiating.
