We are all very sorry for your loss. Being blessed to enjoy first-hand Mr. Jones creation over the past 40 years, you have been like part of the family to four generations now. My dad will miss the conversations with you both, especially the jokes Mr. Jones always had ready. As his gift for design led others to literally look upward toward God, may God sustain you now with His love and peace.
I had the great honor and privilege of meeting Fay Jones when I was on the board of the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy, and it is a memory I cherish. He set a standard for residential architecture which has not been surpassed. Visiting his work around Fayetteville and poring over it in his books, as well as in clippings from magazines since the early 60s, have been inspirational to me. Not only was he a great architect, but I found him to be a courtly gentleman of the old school -- and being from Virginia, I greatly admired and appreciated that.

I have told everybody in the last 24 years that my most favorite job ever was at your office. You taught me so much. Your passion in Architecture is what keeps me going in this field. Your beautiful work are what I always strive for in my business. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to know you and to work for you. My success today would not be possible without your intervention.
You may be gone, but your legacy will live on forever.

Mr. Jones was the finest Architect I have known. He was the best teacher I ever had in school and in life. He was also most humble person I have had the pleasure of knowing. His impact on all who crossed his path cannot be easily measured. The world is a profoundly better place because he was here. All who knew him will always be proud that they did.
God love you three. I have many happy memories of Fay and Gus together. I loved his stories. I remember the two of you at the HPER pool. How he would jump on one leg, head tilted downward, like a teen-ager, to shake the water from his ears. And how he gallantly, and always, held your yellow terry cloth robe for you, Gus, when you left the pool.

Working with Fay while he designed and built our house was a great pleasure for Bill and me. Growing up in this wonderful house was an experience each of our four children treasure. Fay has affected all our lives spiritually and artistically. We send our love to Gus, Janice and Camie.

Fay was the bearer of a great gift from God. He was always a gracious and humble as he shared that gift with others, including his students. He was and is a mentor for my life and my practice of architecture. I will miss him.
