E Marie Kilgore's Obituary
E. Marie Kilgore, of Fayetteville, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at 86 years old. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 23, 1937, to Joseph Alexander and Minnie Alexandra (Christophersen) Zukowski. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dorwin L. Kilgore; sisters Jean Swanson and Lucy Murguia; brother George Zukowski; and brothier-in-law Edwin Kilgore.
Marie was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt. She was always very supportive of her children and their interests. She completed her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Education and went on to teach High School English in four different schools in Lincoln, AR, Anderson, MO, and Raytown, MO. She also earned her real estate license and worked as an agent in that field. Later she was the Owner/Manager of Kilgore Properties for many years.
Some of her interests included being a member of the Washington County Republican Committee and Republican Women, and a member of the Scandinavian Society of NW Arkansas.
Marie is survived by her children, son David Kilgore, daughter Catherine Kilgore, and son Joseph Kilgore and his wife Sheri; grandchildren Christopher Kilgore, Nicholas Kilgore, Michael Stanley, and Kendra Delozier and her husband Kieth; great-grandchildren Bradley and Emily Delozier; and many other family members, nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
A visitation will take place at Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville on Sunday, November 3, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Funeral Service will be Monday, November 4, at 12:00 PM, but burial at Fayetteville National Cemetery to follow at 1:30 PM under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
