Aliff of Cave Springs; his sister-in-law, Verlene Scroggins, and brother-in-law, Steve Scroggins; one nephew, Mike Scroggins; and one niece, Terri Miller; six great nieces, many beloved extended family members, and Christian friends.
Earl was a devoted husband and a loving, caring father. He was a Christian man with a Christlikeness that reflected the character and attitudes of our Lord. Earl loved the Lord. The “fruits of the Spirit” love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, shined through in Earl’s daily life. He was referred to so many times in his life as “that sweet man.” Earl was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Fayetteville. During his Christian life, he served as a Sunday School Teacher and as an usher.
Earl believed that America was the greatest country on Earth because America was founded on Christian principles and the motto “In GOD We Trust.” Earl served his country faithfully and proudly during the Viet Nam era. He was an E4 Sergeant in the United States Air Force. Earl was an Electrical Power Production Specialist and maintained the Titan II Missile Complexes.
Earl was an avid football fan. He cheered his favorite teams, that Arkansas Razorbacks, the Alabama Crimson Tide, and the Dallas Cowboys to many victories. He enjoyed God’s creations. A favorite past time of Earl’s was watching and observing wildlife in nature.
In his long, suffering battle with cancer, Earl’s desire was to let his life’s journey be an example to encourage others and to share his faith and the gospel of Christ with someone. Through it all, Earl found that God’s grace was sufficient.
