Rev. Earnest Lee Edge Sr.'s Obituary
Rev. Earnest Lee Edge, Sr., age 80, of Fayetteville, AR, passed from this life Sunday, July 25, 2021. He was born March 17, 1941, in Wheeler, MS, a son of the late Rev. William Renard Edge and Alpha Mae England Edge. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Ilene Ashley and a brother, Jimmy Wayne Edge. Rev. Edge was a pastor in the Church of God for 52 years, currently serving at the Church of God in Fayetteville, AR for the past 35 years. Rev. Edge also worked as a Master Electrician for 59 years of his life and he owned the Fayetteville company called Edge Electric. Earnest was known for his honesty and hard work ethic, and he wired many new homes throughout all of Northwest Arkansas. When he finally retired from electrical work, Earnest loved to work in his garden in Durham, AR- where he and his wife lived in their lovely home that they built together. Rev. Earnest Edge was a kind, gentle, and fun loving man. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
Survivors are his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Virginia Clark Edge; his children, Teresa Phillips, of El Dorado, AR, Rhonda Crumby, of Malvern, AR, Earnest Lee Edge, II., of Overland Park, KS, Angela Edge, of Farmington, AR; his siblings, Julius Edge, of Heber Springs, AR, Carl Edge, of Lake City, AR, Pat Mumme, of San Antonio, TX, Donald Edge, of Russellville, AR; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 29, at Church of God, 631 N. Mission Blvd., in Fayetteville, AR. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 29, at Church of God in Fayetteville, AR. Graveside service is 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 30, at Bassett Cemetery in Bassett, AR by Nelson Berna Funeral Home.
