I just learned of Dr. Fant's passing today. I'm so sad to hear of his passing and for the loss his family must endure. I was one of his part time students from 2002-2009 while working full time and raising a family of six kids. He always smiled and cheered me up, even when he knew I was wore out from work. I love this man who was a mentor, a friend, and an elder to me. He was also my favorite professor. May he rest in peace with God.
Just learned of Dr. Fant's death. His perpetual smile and outgoing personality will definitely be missed in the Department of Industrial Engineering. He lived his faith. I was one of his graduate students in the Spring of 1993. Before the Easter weekend, he gave each of his students a gift; some candy and a booklet explaining the importance of Easter. Our prayers are with his family.
We love you, Mrs. Georgie, and are praying for you and the family. Dr. Fant was a blessing to know through the years with our Central Baptist Church Family! We will never forget how much he encouraged us when we were having trouble with one of our little ones, who are all grown up now. He would simply say, "Praise them, praise them" with a big smile, and a little chuckle. Going to miss Dr. Fant! Such an amazing man of God! He was the faculty advisor for the MBSF student ministry at the U of A! He was very wise and full of knowledge! I am so blessed that I have been able to know Dr. Fant! Heaven Gaines a very intelligent angel! Going to miss him very much! Praying for the Fant family in their loss! Love you guys!

Dr. Fant was the highlight of the College of Engineering. Always friendly with a cherry outlook and ready to help. I never saw his office door shut.
