Pastor James E. Cheshier's Obituary
Pastor James E. Cheshier, 83 of Fort Smith, AR passed away Friday, October 20, 2006 in Fort Smith. He was born July 15, 1923 in Monticello, AR to Peter Madison Cheshier and Ida Mae (Hood) Cheshier.
He was a retired minister having pastored for 60 years in churches in Star City, AR, Mulberry, AR, Clarksville, AR, Fayetteville, AR, and Newport News, VA. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran and a member of Butterfield Assembly of God Church in Van Buren, AR.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and one son, Jonathan.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Cheshier, one son, Dr. James Cheshier and his wife Kimberly of Fort Smith, AR, one daughter, Kathryn Parish and husband Douglass of Springdale, AR, two brothers, Dave and Peter Cheshier of Neodesha, KS, one sister, Maxie Cheshier of Cabot, AR, six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Butterfield Assembly of God Church in Van Buren with Reverend Ronnie Gilmore officiating. Graveside committal services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday at Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville.
You may pay respects to Pastor Cheshier from noon until 8:00 PM on Monday, October 23, 2006 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.
