Dr. Eddie W. Jones' Obituary
Dr. Eddie W. Jones Sr, 62 of Fayetteville, AR passed away Thursday, October 16, 2014 in Fayetteville. He was born December 13, 1951 in Pearl, MS to Eddie Jones, Jr. and Alma (Garrison) Jones.
Dr. Jones was an educator, performer, and conductor who influenced the lives of many. During his life, he conducted both academic and church choirs touring with his ensembles across the United States, Europe and Asia. Dr. Jones guest conducted, adjudicated choral festivals, conducted master classes, and presented worship seminars both nationally and internationally. His greatest joy was worshipping God through music and teaching others to do the same.
He is survived by his wife Maxine Jones; four children, Micheal Pauline of Clinton, MS, Chilesa Ready of San Antonio, TX, Coletta Patterson of Kosciusko, MS and E. Wade Jones, Jr. of Bentonville, AR; three sisters, Varria Larry, Connie Tate, and Sheryl Malone all of Mississippi; thirteen grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
A celebration of Dr. Jones’ life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 25th at Springdale First Assembly of God, 1605 Robinson Rd., with Reverend Bob Fant officiating. Public viewing will be October 24th from 11:30-1:30 at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. The interment will be October 27th in Pearl, MS.
