Edward E. Papizan's Obituary
Edward E. Papizan, 85, of Fayetteville went to be with his Lord Tuesday, February 10, 2009.
Born March 29, 1923 in Crystal Springs, MS. Son of Mary Harper and Joseph Papizan, he was employed by American Cyanamid Co., agricultural division, for 37 years, he retired in 1989. He was presented the companies Golden Oval Award for outstanding sales achievement in 1971, 1979, and 1982 in New York, NY. A graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana Lafayette. He was a Merchant Marine in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1943 to 1945. He lived in Mississippi, Tennessee, Ohio, Minnesota, Texas, and Arkansas where he was an active member of University Baptist Church, a deacon, and Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mildred McBroom Papizan; daughters Pamela Garrison and her husband Wayne, Connie Lewis and her husband Clark, and Susan Dolan and her husband Robert; sister, Ruth Papizan of Baton Rouge, LA, one nephew Ralph Papizan Lemoine; Eight grandchildren; five grandsons Michael Vorsanger, Todd Vorsanger, Drew Dolan, Tyler Dolan, and Alex Dolan; three granddaughters Alexandra Garrison, Mary Lewis Scroggins and her husband Joseph, and Sarah Lewis. Preceded in death; daughter Lynne Vorsanger survived by her husband Bruce Vorsanger; and brother Ralph Papizan.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Nelson Berna Funeral Home
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 13 at 1:00pm at Nelson Berna Funeral Home. A private burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens with Rev. HD McCarty officiating.
