Edwin Maurice LeVay Jr.'s Obituary
Edwin Maurice LeVay, Jr., age 74, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2024, in Rogers. He was born May 18, 1950, in Camden, Arkansas, the son of Edwin Maurice LeVay, Sr. and Mabel Lee Allen LeVay. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 46 years, Ruth Eilene LeVay.
Ed was an avid deer hunter and spent most of his life as a member of the Smead Hunting Club in South Arkansas. It was on this land that he taught his beloved daughters how to shoot, drive, and respect wildlife. The only thing truer than his aim was his moral compass. He was a man of faith and served as a deacon for many years at Mayflower Assembly of God Church and later at Conway Faith Church. He also enjoyed singing with the Conway Men’s Chorus.
He is survived by his sister Kay Mosley of Springdale; two daughters, Tamara Howell (and husband Lance) of Crossett and Eve Dowden (and husband Cody) of Bentonville; two granddaughters, Bree Howell and Clara Dowden; dear friend BethAnn Jackson of Kensett; and many cousins, nieces, and friends.
Ed’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Innisfree Health & Rehabilitation for the love and care shown to him there during his last few months.
In lieu of funeral services, and to honor Ed’s character, anyone who would like to participate is encouraged to make a donation to the National Wildlife Federation at support.nwf.org.
Cremation arrangements entrusted to Nelson-Berna Funeral Home Rogers.
