Effie Bates' Obituary
Mrs. Effie Bates, 81 of West Fork, AR passed away Sunday, August 31, 2008 in West Fork, AR. She was born March 15, 1927 in Lauderdale County, AL to James Wesley Smith and Beddie Alice (Scott) Smith. She was retired from West Fork Public Schools, a member of New Life Tabernacle Church, a homemaker, she loved gardening, raising flowers, and she spent fifteen years working for Meals on Wheels and she was a loving and caring mother to her children. She is survived by seven sons; William Bates of West Fork, AR, Kenneth Bates of Fayetteville, AR, Maynard Bates of Lompoc, CA, Donnie Bates of Purdy, MO, Ronald Bates of Farmington, AR, Jeff Bates of West Fork, AR, Glen Bates of The Colony, TX, four daughters; Margaret Fancher of Berryville, AR, Mildred Peel of Farmington, Arkansas, Carolyn Boone of West Fork, AR, Christine Neuendorf of Broken Arrow, OK, two sister; Pauline Bates of Florence, Alabama, Virginia Smith of South Bend, Indiana, thirty-two grandchildren, thirty-seven great grandchildren, and twenty-two great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 6, 2008 at New Life Tabernacle with Reverend John Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Campbell Cemetery in West Fork, AR.
