Elane Bennett's Obituary
Elane Bennett, age 90, of Rogers, AR, passed from this life Friday, March 10, 2023. She was born July 18, 1932, in Cauthorn, AR, a daughter of the late Loyd Andrew Bennett and Lillie Florence Holt Bennett and the fourth of their eight children. Elane was also preceded in death by three sons, Bruce Wayne Wood, J.R. Gibbs, and David Michael Gibbs; and seven siblings.
Elane loved and valued her family above all else and is survived by her grandchildren, Judy [Andy] Velosky and Nathan Loyd Gibbs, her great-grandchildren, Kyndal, Atticus, and Runa, three sisters-in-law, Sue Bennett, Ima Lee Riggins, and Millie Bennett. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she adored from both sides of the Holt-Bennett families including her niece Laura [Ed] Godfrey who was her caregiver until her passing.
After moving to California and working as a cashier for over 20 years, she retired to Highfill, Arkansas in the early 90’s. In 2014 she moved into a retirement community in Bentonville, Arkansas to be closer to her sister, Bobbie Jo and to be cared for by her brother Loyd. Elane had been a member of Hope Community Bible Church of Rogers, Arkansas.
Elane was best known for quick-witted humor, abundance of courage, general sweetness and a deep love of the game of “42.”
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 17, at Nelson Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville with Pastor Edward Godfrey officiating. Burial to follow at Friendship Cemetery, Springdale, Arkansas.
