Life Legacy
Elizabeth Anne Clay, age 83, of Springdale, Arkansas passed away Friday August 17, 2018. She was born August 20, 1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Theodore and Kathryn Hagen May. She is a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville and an elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA).
She is survived by her husband David T. Clay, sister-in-law Darla May, niece Kathy May, and nephew Craig May of Indianapolis, IN. David has two sons, Jeffrey Clay (wife Erin) of Sitka, AK and Matthew Clay (wife Gina) of Fayetteville, AR, and two grandchildren, Julianna and Magdalena Clay.
Anne loved people of all ages, showing it most readily with a beautiful smile that lit up her whole face. She was a trusted friend, mentor, and confidant to many young women and men who were challenged with tough life situations.
As a Head Start teacher in Paducah, KY, Anne provided preschool children with safe environments and creative surroundings that enabled them to learn as best they could. She encouraged many senior adults to enjoy life as an activity director for a retirement community in Orlando, FL. Anne also worked as a marketing specialist for Bell South. She enjoyed volunteering for several organizations while living in Paducah, Orlando, Cincinnati, OH and Portland, OR. Through all these endeavors she developed long-lasting friendships.
Memorial service will be Saturday, September 1 at 2:30 PM at the Gardens of Arkanshire, Springdale, AR.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Save the Children.
