Our fun, loving Aunt Lizzie loved her family. Elizabeth was the baby of her family of 6, Marie, Virgie, Leo, Billy, and Bernice. Her brothers and sisters adored her.
She always welcomed you with a big hug, beautiful smile, and a sparkle in her eyes. She loved to spend time with family.
Each conversation was full of love and laughter. She had a great sense of humor and loved a good joke.
On visits to the Fayetteville Rehab Center, you would always find Aunt Lizzie and Aunt Bernice, her sister and best friend, side by side holding hands in good times and when one might not feel their best.
In past years, these sisters played together as young girls, worked together as respected, hardworking business women, spent time together with family, attended dances together and enjoyed living life together.
On a visit to see Aunt Lizzie on her birthday this year, she shined with happiness talking about her birthday. She told me her birthday was September 22nd. She said her mom would always make her birthdays special with birthday cake.
Aunt Lizzie enjoyed eating a vanilla birthday cup cake and told me “I love you and our family”.
On good days and bad days Aunt Lizzie always told me she loved me. What a wonderful, lasting memory and example to leave with us, to tell our loved ones “I love you”. Aunt Lizzie, “We love you too”.
