Randy Hall
I just wanted to share a sweet memory of Betty & Blair, early in their marriage, as they traveled by ship to their army assignment in Okinawa. My parents and I, a young teenager, shared a table in the dining salon with the Buckleys. It was a 22-day voyage, and we all developed a strong friendship during the long journey. Though I was only 13, Betty & Blair were much closer to my age than they were to my parents’ generation. They respected me and were interested in me, and I never forgot their kindness, friendship, and encouragement. We visited in their home several times over the next two years and shared a Thanksgiving dinner with them. It was my honor to have known Betty & Blair.
