Elizabeth “Liz” T. Howick passed away October 3, 2023. Born October 13, 1930 to Donald and Mylrea Tripp of Belvidere IL. She was predeceased by her husband, Lester C. Howick and now survived by her brother, Robert S. Tripp and his Read Obituary
Liz sang in our choir at Trinity UMC for several years in the 80's. She also gave voice lessons to two of my daughters. I had the pleasure of singing with her in the Bella Vista choral group also. She was a musician's musician and a joy to sing with.
In addition to the many ways Liz endeared herself to the musical community of Fayetteville and Northwest Arkansas, she was also a beloved member of the Sigma Omicron chapter of the music fraternity, Sigma Alpha Iota, both on campus and as part of the Alumnae chapter. Several of our SAI sisters have joined me in recalling fond memories of Liz’s many contributions to our lives through the fifty plus years that we knew her. Les was a strong support, not only for Liz, but also those of us they included so generously and lovingly into their lives. Their examples of whole hearted service will long be remembered and continue to inspire.
Liz was an extraordinary woman. I sang with her at St Paul’s choir for many years. We visited with Les and Liz often. I miss her.
