Emily Ann Stuckey's Obituary
Emily Ann Davis Stuckey was born July 27, 1940 in Dallas, TX. After a long battle with dementia, she passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025 in Fayetteville, Arkansas surrounded by family.
Emily was raised in Oklahoma City during her early childhood, and thereafter in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Emily had so many fond memories of growing up in the once small town of Fayetteville . She often shared stories of her Fayetteville High School years and the friends she cherished from that time in life.
Emily graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1962 with a degree in Art History. She was a true artist and very creative. She leaves behind many paintings done in her early years that display her gift. She was always working on a creative project.
After meeting each other at Fayetteville High School and dating for many years, Emily Davis married Fred Stuckey at Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville in 1964. Fred’s career took them to Kansas City, Dallas, TX and Lenexa, KS. Their children, Laura and John, were raised most years in Lenexa. Emily loved her years living in Lenexa raising their children. She attended all of their activities and never missed any of John’s soccer, baseball or football games. But she never forgot her Arkansas roots, and would willingly Call the Hogs for anyone in Kansas City, completely embarrassing her children. She had wonderful friends and memories from this time of her life.
Emily was an animal lover and spoiler of any creature in her care. She loved and nurtured many dogs, cats and birds in her lifetime. She had a true heart for animals.
Emily was a Razorback Fan and truly understood sports. She and Fred spent many years attending Razorback games of basketball, football and baseball with close friends. She was especially excited when her Grandsons started playing sports and she could attend Fayetteville Bulldog tennis, football, baseball, and track events. She loved her Grandsons dearly and Emmie never missed a game!
Emily and Fred moved back to Arkansas in 1985 and lived in a house they built on Beaver Lake at LaRue. Emily then spent the last years of her life happily in her hometown of Fayetteville. She worked & volunteered at the Fayetteville Public Library and served many years at Saint Pauls Community Meals.
