Emma Lou "Emmy" Luther's Obituary
Emma Lou “Emmy” Luther, age 81, of Fayetteville, passed away Friday, November 22, 2024, in Springdale, Arkansas. She was born March 20, 1943, in Woodstock, Virginia to John Rolland and Bessie Seal Hollingsworth. She is a graduate of Woodstock High School and Strayer College. She married Ernel Luther in November 1969 in Woodstock, Virginia at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Elizabeth (Sue) Hollingsworth Grant; and two brothers, John Roland Hollingsworth Jr. and Harold (Sam) Hollingsworth.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ernel “Ernie” Luther of Fayetteville, Arkansas; niece, Amy Long and her husband Kevin of Pelham, Alabama and children, Ainsley and Aiden; nephew, Tim Grant and his wife Anna of Front Royal, Virginia and children, Andrew, Matthew and Kathleen, nephew, John Rolland Hollingsworth III and wife Lisa of Edinburg, Virginia, and daughter Lexi; nephew, Kevin Hollingsworth of Berkeley Springs, WV and children, Kevin Hollingsworth Jr., Thomas Hollingsworth, Tonya Hollingsworth and Hannah Hollingsworth; sister in law Jackie Hollingsworth and daughter, Beth Hollingsworth of Charlotte, North Carolina. From Ernie’s side, nephew, Allen Peters, of Fayetteville, AR; nephew, Gerald Peters and his wife Barbara of Fayetteville and children, Mitchell (Skyler), Martin (Jodi), and Leslie Spurgers (Steven); niece, Joy (Larry) McDonald of Redlands, CA; nephew Larry (Coleen) Botts of Irvine, CA; and nephew David Botts of Shell Knob, Mo.
Visitation will be at Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock, VA on Monday, December 2nd at 11:00 a.m. and Graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. at Sunset View Memorial Gardens in Woodstock, Virginia under the direction of Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be accepted at Savoy EHC 15365 Savoy Rd, Fayetteville, AR 72704, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements in Fayetteville are under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
