Leslie, I am so sorry for your loss. I know with the holidays here, this must be a tough time for you and your family. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers this season. Your father was such a wonderful man! It devastated my parents when he passed away, especially my father, Jim Moore. He and Teddy were such good friends and colleagues. When Dad had his MI, your father was there every day maintaining a vigil to see his friend through the worst of it. The University lost a powerful man and we all lost such a great friend. To know him was to truly care deeply for him. OMGsh...and no one will ever have hotter peanuts than he had! Yikes!
God be with you as well as all the great memories of Teddy this holiday season.

Leslie and Hailey, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. While there is truly a void in your lives, you know now, that your father and mother are back together again. I am sorry for waiting so long to reach out, but I was in the hospital when your father passed and was unable attend the service or call.

I never had him as an instructor, but he was always around for everything. Working on the farm for years, he always picked the best day to bring us pot of beans. It would be cold and miserable and we would be out pruning apple trees and to come in to a surprise pot of Dr. Morelock's beans would just melt everything away. Usually helped that he would add a spice pepper or two. To this day every batch of beans I make I compare to his. My memory of him was always with a smile, he loved life, and he always left you with a smile. I planted several rows of beans in my garden this week with my 4 year old son, and told him all about your father and grandfather. He will be forever missed in this world.

Dear Family Members;
I remember Teddy from the time he was a student at U.W.-Madison, and I served on his dissertation committee. Since then I have enjoyed the opportunity to work with him as a plant breeding colleague. He was a good friend, a fine person and an excellent plant breeder. I enjoyed his wit and sense of humor. I am saddened by his untimely death and he will be missed by many friends and professionals in horticulture.

It was truly an honor to have met Dr. Teddy Morelock for a few short years since 1998. In this short period of time I witnessed a man with great knowledge about many aspects of Horticulture, Plant breeding and research projects that were second to none. It was also a privilege to know the none professional side of Teddy. I will always remember the day he introduced me to his famous "Hot Peanuts" and how he would indiscriminately share them with people to see their reaction. In December we hosted the International Spinach Conference here in Crystal City Texas and as usual Teddy was a great part of this event. The Spinach industry will miss Teddy's work, professionalism and dedication to an industry which he so dearly loved. May you rest in Peace.
