Eric Alan Esche's Obituary
Eric Alan Esche, 74, of Rogers died Wednesday January 28, 2026. Eric was born to the late Eric and Ruth Esche on November 9, 1951. He grew up in Annandale, Virginia and Marietta, Georgia. Mr. Esche was a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology School of Textiles and worked for over 20 years in the textile industry in Georgia, Alabama, and North Carolina.
He was an avid whitewater enthusiast who helped finance his college education by working as a raft guide on the Chattooga River in northeast Georgia. While working for Southeastern Expeditions, he helped haul cameras and gear for the crew filming the movie Deliverance and was also called upon to guide rafts of Secret Service agents when President Carter was on the river. He was a member of the Rabun County Chapter of Trout Unlimited and worked on their stream reclamation projects. In Arkansas, he enjoyed the local waterways with the Arkansas Canoe Club.
He served in the Civil Air Patrol as a cadet in the Dobbins Air Force Base Squadron and as a First Lieutenant in the Burlington North Carolina Squadron.
He participated in endurance and trail rides in Georgia, Alabama and the Carolinas on his beloved Morgan gelding, Palisades Ralph.
After moving to Rogers, he joined the Garden Club of Rogers and was honored as the 2020 Bravo Award Winner of the Arkansas Federation of Garden Clubs.
Mr. Esche is survived by his wife, Susan; son, James Eric Esche; his twin brother, Dana B. Esche of Marietta, GA and older brother, John N. Esche of Jersey City, NJ.
A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church of Rogers on Saturday February 21 at 10 am.
