Erica Lindsey's Obituary
Erica Lindsey, age 53, beloved member of the Fayetteville community, died, Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Washington Regional Medical Center.
She was born in El Dorado, Arkansas, on February 23, 1971, to Gary and Carol Bennett Souheaver. She graduated from Hall High School in Little Rock and attended the University of Arkansas.
On July 21, 2012, she married John Lindsey. They lived and worked happily for the past twelve years in Fayetteville, serving family and community. Erica worked as a valued care giver and case manager providing in-home senior care at 1 Source Senior Care. Erica and John were involved with Washington County Democrats and other educational activities.
Erica was a loving member of her large family. Survivors include her husband, John of Fayetteville; her father and stepmother, Gary and Louann Souheaver of Little Rock; her father- and mother-in-law, Uvalde and Jo Lindsey of Fayetteville; mother-in-law Joyce Lindsey of Russellville; aunt, Sharon Henriksen of Maumelle; nephew, Bennett Souheaver; stepsister Angie Searan Spring (Nolan) of Whitefish, MT; cousins Marshall Sladyen of Conway, Kevin Henriksen of Maumelle, and Kyle Henriksen of Conroe, TX; and a host of other cousins, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Her mother, Carol, and older brother, Brent, preceded her in death.
Erica lived a life filled with good humor, wisdom and compassionate service to others. She excelled at providing a happy home for family and animals. She steadfastly guided other families to good care and nurturing during all stages of life.
Visitation will be held at Moore’s Chapel, 206 W. Center St., Fayetteville on Saturday, July 6, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Following the visitation, a New Orleans style second line march to Maxine’s Tap Room, 107 N. Block Street, Fayetteville, will celebrate her life.
