Ethel Smith's Obituary
Ethel Marie Smith, 83 of Fayetteville, AR gained her wings on April 22, 2024. She was born in Cane Hill, AR on June 1, 1940, to the late Clarence and Margaret Lackey Smith. Ethel attended Fayetteville Public Schools and was a member of the Historic St. James Baptist Church.
She was a passionate cook and was known for her Sunday dinners. A few of her specialties were greens, cobblers, meringue pies and homemade cinnamon rolls. She also shared this gift with the children of Lincoln Elementary School where she was a cook.
Ethel was always her authentic self. She was such a bright light and always made you feel welcome.
Her favorite role in life was being a mother and grandmother. She was known for her love of music, dance and fellowshipping with family and friends. She is loved by her community as she was selfless with a big heart.
Waiting to meet her at Heaven’s Pearly Gates are her parents, her son, Egan Smith and granddaughter, Tanesha Goddard and other family and friends.
Left to cherish her memories are daughter, Judy Mahone (Shae), Laurie Smith and Peria Smith all of Fayetteville, AR; one son, Dwight Smith (Regina) of Fayetteville, AR. Brothers, Billy Smith (Mycheal) of Ft. Smith, AR and Melvin E Smith; two sisters, Virginia Denton of Fayetteville, AR and Martha Bradley (James) of Springdale, AR. Grandchildren, Taron Mahone, Jasmine Smith, Jarvis Smith, Destiny Smith, Autumn Gates, Tevea Smith, Miles Kellogg and Jawan Mahone; 12 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including special friend, Archie Buchanan.
