Eugene 'Gene' Baker's Obituary
Eugene “Gene” Baker died June 2, 2012 in Springdale, Arkansas. He was born July 16, 1934 in West Fork, Arkansas, the son of Marvin and Lena Cheevers Baker.
Gene owned and operated Springdale Tractor for forty years. He was a former President of the Springdale Jaycees, President of Tontitown Volunteer Fire Department, on the board of Tontitown Water and Sewer Commission, a collector of antique cars and a member of the Ozark Antique Car Club. He was a member of the Johnson Church of Christ.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Dockery Baker, two daughters: Missy Cherry and Dana Bradford, both of Springdale; a sister, Louise Kellow of Portland, Oregon; and three grandchildren: Mackenzie Cherry and Alexis Cherry, both of Springdale and Garrett Bradford of Grove, Oklahoma.
A visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 4 at Moore’s Chapel of Fayetteville.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, at Johnson Church of Christ with Mr. Jim Dockery officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
