EuGenia Dunn McGlothlin Garrison's Obituary
EuGenia Dunn McGlothlin Garrison, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully in Rogers, Arkansas, on Friday September 22, 2023, at the age of 83. Born on July 31, 1940, in Tupelo, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Mabel Dunn. EuGenia's life was marked by a profound love for her family, her community, and a passion for making the world a better place through her countless acts of kindness.
EuGenia was preceded in death by her loving husbands, Cecil Monroe McGlothlin, Jr. and Donald Ray Garrison.
EuGenia's heart was a treasure trove of friendship, as she collected and nurtured connections with a warmth that made everyone feel cherished and valued. Over her years in Arkansas, she was a dedicated member of Pleasant Valley, Flagstone and Bella Vista Churches of Christ.
For 43 years, EuGenia was an active and dedicated member of Al-Anon, where she provided a comforting presence to those seeking help and hope in their own journeys to recovery. Her commitment to the organization touched the lives of many and served as an inspiration to all who knew her.
EuGenia's passions were as diverse as they were heartfelt. She found joy in decorating and had an eye for collecting antiques, which she used to decorate her home. Over the years she has been an antique dealer and most recently maintained a booth at Betty’s Attic. Her innate creativity and flair for design were a testament to her unique personality and impeccable taste.
EuGenia and her late husband, Cecil, owned and operated Pop’s Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street in Van Buren for more than 10 years. Many still remember the Friends and Family Table, 5 cent coffee and Blue Bell blue vanilla ice cream. Her magnetic personality earned her the title of a "social butterfly." She thrived in the company of others, always eager to engage in lively conversations, share laughter, and create lasting memories with her loved ones.
EuGenia will forever be remembered and deeply missed by her children: Donna Donaldson and husband Barry of Sugar Land, Texas; Dana Morton and husband Monty of Rogers, Arkansas; and Monte McGlothlin of Edmond, Oklahoma.
