Eula Mae Moody's Obituary
Mrs. Eula Mae Moody, 88 of Prairie Grove, AR formerly of Fayetteville, AR passed away Sunday, February 6, 2005 at home. She was born September 14, 1916 in Bokchito, OK to John Lawrence and Mary May (Lyons) Harmon. She graduated high school at Morris, OK, and attended some classes at the University of Arkansas when she was in her 60's.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fayetteville and worked in the church nursery for many years. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Fayetteville when she could in her later years.
She worked 27 years at the UofA Student Union and then became Head Banquet Cook for the University until she retired at age 75.
She wrote poetry and won the Golden Award from The World of Poetry in New York City.
She loved to learn. She took cake decorating, nurses aide, and mechanic courses. She loved the outdoors, flowers, gardening and reading.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jessie Pleasant (Pleas) Moody, a daughter Mary Ellen Moody, a son, James Harvey Moody, an infant twin sister, Beulah Faye, a sister, Essis Loaque, three brothers, Luther, Johnny, and Paul Harmon.
One daughter, Diana Phillips and husband Eddie of Prairie Grove, AR, one sister, Pauline Reamer of Longmont, CO, one brother, Carroll Harmon of Seminary, Mississippi, two granddaughters, April Jordan Robinson of Fayetteville, AR, Cheryl Jordan Franks-Woolsey and husband Brad of Lincoln, AR two step - granddaughters, Becky Beggs and Kathy Hall of Prairie Grove, three great grandchildren Kaitlin Robinson, Tyler Franks, Shea Woolsey, two step great grandchildren, Ryan and Renee Hall Cook, two step great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, survives her.
Visitation will be held at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home on February 8, 2005 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 9, 2005 in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with Brother Shane Cross and Cindy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
Pallbearers will be Jim McDonald, Leonard Phillips, Charles Smith, Greg Robinson, Adam Villesca, and Curtis Phillips.
