Eva Stalker's Obituary
Eva Teagarden Stalker, 95, of Fayetteville died Friday, June 28, 2013 at Butterfield Trail Village. She was born June 8, 1918 in Glade, Kansas to Mary Belle Bush Teagarden and Samuel Evans Teagarden.
Eva Stalker, a graduate of the University of Kansas and an accomplished musician, was married to Kenneth W. Stalker, a renowned aeronautical and aerospace engineer, on February 7, 1941. Eva Stalker taught piano for many years, both privately and at public institutions. She was a long-time member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her brother, Gerald Edmond Teagarden, and sisters, Viva Moon and Mildred Justman Kerns.
She is survived by her nephews Stephen Justman and David Teagarden and her niece Jan Wilbur and their families. She is also survived by longtime friends, Jim and Susan Harter, and many friends at First United Presbyterian Church, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and Butterfield Trail Village.
There will be a visitation at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, at the Dining Room at Butterfield Trail Village Health Care Unit and a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at Fairview Memorial Gardens. There will be a memorial service at the First United Presbyterian Church at a later date.
Memorials can be made to the two churches.
Graveside services will be under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
