Evadne Wanda Tunstill Bailey's Obituary
Evadne Wanda Tunstill Bailey, age 88, of Springdale, AR, passed away on October 25, 2022. She was born May 16, 1934, at Elkins, AR to Ralph Ira Tunstill and Wilma Winifred Elmore Tunstill. Preceding her in death was a brother Oscar Tunstill, her parents, and her husband Jerry Bailey.
She is survived by two sisters, Verlene Harrison and Velda Rogers; a son, Steve Bailey and daughter, JoAnn Bailey Mallard; three grandchildren, Melissa, Stacy and James Mallard; a loving niece; and three loving nephews all of Springdale.
Upon graduation from Elkins, AR High School Evadne enrolled in Nursing School at Sparks Hospital Ft. Smith, AR where she succeeded at a nursing career that expanded over 55 years and was dedicated to her profession. She was employed 1961 - 2006 at NW Medical (Formerly SMH) and was soon promoted and served in several positions in the Department of Nursing. Her most notable achievement was promotion to Employee Health Nurse and the Department of Epidemiology where she studied to become an Epidemiologist. She was nominated numerous times Employee of the Year.
Evadne was a simple and compassionate woman and always had a smile and word of wisdom. She enjoyed the simplest things and gladly shared all. She was devoted to her family. Evadne will be greatly missed by all.
