Fenner Steward's Obituary
Fenner William Steward, age 74, went to his heavenly home on Friday, August 28, 2020 in Fayetteville. He was born on November 8, 1945 in Conway, Arkansas to Fenner and Ella Ritchie Steward, who preceded him in death. Also, he is preceded in death by his sisters Helen Tilley, Jean Montgomery and husband Fred, and Mable Brannon and husband Roy; and his brothers Joe Steward and wife Pauline and Bill Steward and wife Margaret.
Fenner loved Jesus, his family, his friends, and fishing. He lived his life big, full of joy and laughter, and his smile could light up the entire room. A passion for helping others and telling stories led him to working with and teaching history to troubled youth for the last twenty years. He had a kind, servant’s heart that he modeled after Christ. His love and service for others will be a legacy passed on to future generations.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Carr Steward of Fayetteville; two daughters, Susan Steward Hanna and husband Casey of Wagoner, Oklahoma and Rebecca Steward Spinks and husband David of Conroe, Texas; grandchildren Meg Hanna, Jonathan Hanna, Matthew Spinks, and Ella Spinks; sister, Betty Rose Steward Burr and husband Gordon of Hot Springs; and brother-in-law Hoover Tilley of Springhill, AR. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Monday, August 31, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Fayetteville at 11:00 AM. Live streaming of the service will begin at 11:00 and will be available at http://fbcfayetteville.org/live-streaming.
