Flora June Lyon's Obituary
Flora June Lyon, age 80, of Farmington passed away August 6, 2022. She was a former First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and schoolteacher in Jacksonville, Ark. She was born January 13, 1942, in Fort Smith to John D. and Arvina Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jake” Wesley Lyon; her sister, Johnnie Faye Dickson; one brother, Voyle “Butch” Mitchell; her mother-in-law, Linda Lyon; and her parents. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Farmington.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Vernon Mitchell (Carolyn) of Fort Worth, Texas; her father-in-law, Mr. Bill Lyon, of Cabot, Ark.; her sister-in-law, Joyce Lyon Curry (Bill), of Cabot, Ark.; nieces Deliese Catterson (Paul) of Olympia, Wash., Mary Beth Dickson of Billings, Mont., Tracy Mitchell of Fort Worth, Texas, Sheila Mitchell of Fayetteville, Ark., Julie Worlow (Brett) of Fayetteville, Ark., Laura Huett of Jacksonville, Ark., and Leslie Curry of Jacksonville, Ark.; nephews Thorp Mitchell (Stephanie), of Fort Worth, Texas, and John Curry (Leslie) of Ward, Ark.; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2022, at Moore’s Chapel with burial to follow at Son’s Chapel Cemetery in Fayetteville.
