Floyd E. Dobson's Obituary
Floyd E. Dobson was born February 6, 1938, in Mulhall, Oklahoma to Leon and Esther (Faunce) Dobson and died Tuesday, March 15, 2022 in Enid, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Doris Rollins and an infant brother and sister.
He graduated from Wynona High School with the class of 1956. He enlisted in the National Guard. He owned and operated a bakery in Siloam Springs for a time. He then worked as a chef for Phillips 66 and various colleges until his retirement.
He was very active, long-time member of the Seventh day Adventist Church of which he was a charter member and a deacon . He also drove the van for the elderly and was active in the local food banks.
He enjoyed traveling, gardening, woodworking, and collecting cars that he would do maintenance on.
Floyd is survived by his three children, Wayne C. Dobson and wife Lola; Sandra Grace Dobson; Rachel Lynn Wright and husband Ace; three sisters, Frieda Cook; Phyllis Adkins; Donna Briggs; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Monday, May 2, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Fairmont Cemetery in Gentry, Arkansas with Pastor Wermer Gil officiating. Cremation arrangements were entrusted under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home in Enid, Oklahoma.
