Gary Lynn Fast, age 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 20th surrounded by loving friends and family. He is survived by his husband of 49 years Michael Hill. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Delilah and Ly Read Obituary
Michael, I just saw the notice of Gary's passing in an Arkansas Alumni mailing from a few months ago. Although it has been many years since I have seen you and Gary, I have fond memories of you both from my Fayetteville years. Gary was a sweetheart. Wishing you many special and loving moments in your memory bank from which to draw when you need to feel his presence. God bless you and all who loved Gary. He was a gift.

Greg and I are so sad to hear about Gary. He was a joy to be around, always kind, happy, and laughing about something. He had a great attitude even when struggling with a health issue. I’m thankful I knew him as my hairdresser for 48 years! My thoughts and prayers are with you, your friends, and Gary’s family. He thought the world of all of you.

Gary Fast lit up a room with that great big smile. He was so giving, loving and supportive. I have so memories of Gary laughing, smiling and living his best life with his friends. Michael - I am so sorry you lost your life mate. I was always happy to see the two of you, and to admire your home and flower gardens from my bicycle as I peddled through the middle of Fayetteville. I was so sorry to learn that Gary had died. He was such a friendly, happy guy. I’ll always cherish the memories of Gary and Michael and their wonderful group of friends who would join us weekly for Cajun dinners at Vintage House in the mid ‘80’s. My condolences to Michael, family and friends. Fayetteville has lost an icon.

Admirable career. I’ve always had so much respect for his reputation as a hairdresser in Fayetteville. Throughout my career, I was fortunate to meet some of his clients and they had nothing but good things to say. Sorry for your loss.

It was with great sadness that I learned of Gary's passing. I started with him when he first moved to Fayetteville and followed him as he moved...Center Street, an old funeral home, etc. It was a journey and we always appreciated and treasured your friendships. He will be missed by so many but was a shining star whose memory is treasured. Love to you during this time of grief.
