Gary Golden Gross' Obituary
Gary Golden Gross, of Fayetteville, AR passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2026. He was the son of the late Alva D. Gross and Cornelia Golden Gross of Arkadelphia, AR. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Roy A. Gross of Little Rock.
Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Peggy McLean Gross and stepdaughters, Catherine Chipman and Alison Walker of Boulder, CO. Gary is also survived by his four children, Gary Gross, Jr. of Prescott, Melanie Morgan of Malvern, DeAnn Hipps of Arkadelphia, Glenn Gross of Little Rock; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Gary was born March 23, 1940, in Arkadelphia. He graduated from the University of Arkansas where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and was a three-year letterman on the Razorback golf team. Peggy and Gary married in March of 1980.
After being in business and farming in Arkadelphia, he and Peggy had an enjoyable 10 years in Niceville, Florida where Gary was in the golf business. They moved to Fayetteville in 1993. Gary was a member of Central United Methodist Church, the Fayetteville Country Club, and Paradise Valley Athletic Club. He was also a volunteer with several community organizations including Hospice, Stephen Ministries, and an usher at Central Methodist Church. Gary was also one of the initiators for The Arkansas Rice Depot, which has now become known as Arkansas Foodbank since 2016. He was an early volunteer for the Horses for Healing in Rogers, AR in the 1990’s.

A private family graveside service will be held in Arkadelphia at the Rose Hill Cemetery.
