Gary Wayne Hill's Obituary
Gary Wayne Hill, age 73, of Fayetteville passed away Wednesday October 6th, 2021, at the Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville, Ar. with his son by his side. He was born to parents Marvin and Mary Hill on January 21st, 1948, in Marshall, MO. Gary graduated from Springdale High School in 1967 and joined the U.S. Navy in 1968, serving onboard the USS Constellation. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War era and was proud of his service and his country. After receiving an Honorable discharge, he started a family in 1976. Shortly thereafter he started his career as a salesman in the food distribution industry. That experience and work ethic allowed him to become an entrepreneur, starting Gary’s Total Lawn Service. He retired in 2015, which allowed him to spend additional time with friends and family. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s extracurricular activities throughout the years and loved calling those Hogs every chance he could get. He attended Cross Church Fayetteville and was loved by many family members and friends.
Gary is survived by his father Marvin Hill of Springdale; his son Wes Hill and wife Stacci of Springdale; 2 grandchildren Audrey Tipton and her husband Tyler of Tulsa, OK, and Jaccob Hill of Springdale; a sister Carolyn Higgs and her husband Mike of Fayetteville; two nephews, a niece and multiple family members in NWA, Missouri and Oklahoma. Gary was preceded in death by his mother Mary Hill of Springdale.
Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 12th at 10:00 AM, at the Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Burial service will immediately follow at the Fayetteville National Cemetery with Military Honors, under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.
