George Eugene Thomas' Obituary
George Eugene Thomas, age 80, of Wesley, died Monday, October 14, 2013
in Fayetteville. He was born August 6, 1933 in Wesley, to Oren and Mary Fritts Thomas, and was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Thomas.
George was self-employed, enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting and all sports. He was known throughout Madison County as the “Watermelon Man”. George was a proud U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by a daughter, Georgia Smedema and her husband Butch of Yakima, Washington; two sons, Marvin Seifer and his wife Gwen of Medford, Oregon and Ernie Thomas of Echo, Oregon; a step-son, Jeff Busch and his wife Cathy of Bentonville; a step-daughter, Lori Crammond and her husband Rick of England; a sister, Reathel Hicks of Rogers, Arkansas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Wesley Church of Christ. Honorary pallbearers will be Ted O'Neal, Ed O'Neal, Davis Reas, John Long, Jerry King, Dean Bowen and Jay Moffett.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
