George M. Cook's Obituary
George M. Cook, Jr., age 92, of Fayetteville passed away Monday January 9 in Fayetteville. He was born December 3, 1924 in Shidler, Oklahoma, the son of George M and Byrd Vaughn Cook Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 69 years Bettie Cook and a son Michael M. Cook. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II. He was also the manager of the book store at the University of Arkansas from 1966-1988. He is survived by his two sons Tony Cook and his wife Heather of Rogers and Chris Cook and his wife Rebecca of Springdale and one grandson Cody Cook. Funeral Service will be held 1:00 pm Friday January 13 at Moore’s Chapel. A private committal service will be held at the Fayetteville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Willard Walker Hospice Home or the Butterfield Trail Village Foundation.
