I just came across George's obituary today. George and I were best friends when he lived in Enid, OK. I will always remember what a great kid he was and how much I missed him when he and his family moved to Fayetteville. We kept in touch with each other for awhile but eventually we lost contact. But I never forgot him and what a talented, intelligent and friendly person he was. To his sister, Jerry, whom I also knew, God bless and keep his soul and give you comfort.
George was always loved by his school mates. He was so sweet, kind, gentle and totally unaware of how handsome he was.
He seemed to finally be at peace w/ life and was looking forward to enjoying each and every day.
I was touched to receive a few letters from him this year. I learned how important his banjos and music was to his life. He was working on his Neil Diamond (and other artists) songs. I was looking forward to hearing him perform.
I think George is singing and playing in heaven now.
