George 'Red' Robert Sanders' Obituary
George Robert “Red” Sanders, age 75, of Elkins, died Wednesday, October 30, 2013 in Fayetteville. He was born March 7, 1938 in La Habra, California the son of Kenneth and Mabel Clark Sanders.
After graduating from Springdale High School, he moved back to California and was in the wholesale produce business for over 40 years. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, and motorcycle riding. He was a member of Richland Baptist Church in Elkins and Coast Hills Baptist Church in Santa Maria, California. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Gores-Sanders.
He is survived by two daughters, Karen Gracia and her husband Joe of Santa Maria, California and Arleen Lawson and her husband Paul of Belleview, Florida; a son, Kevin Sanders and his wife Jennifer of Carlsbad, California; six grandchildren, Dustin and Dalton Lawson of Belleview, Florida and Nicole and Kylie Gracia of Santa Maria, California and Mackenzie and Austin Sanders of Carlsbad, California and a brother, Kenneth Dean Sanders of Encinitas, California.
Visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00 am Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Richland Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday at Richland Baptist Church with burial to follow at Mount Olive Cemetery, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville.
