In a way-too-short life, Mr. Spencer influenced so many lives! He passed away during finals week at U of A (where I teach) and my students from Fayetteville were all talking about what a wonderful teacher he was, and how saddened they were to hear of the news. The same from my own kids, Will and Emily, who both had him for Chemistry and loved him. His inspiration will live on in the many lives he touched.

As (up until recently) a career academic, I came across numerous teachers who had a not insignificant influence, but only a handful who really shaped me as an adult. Mr. Spencer was at the top of that list. I'm so sorry to see him go.

I just saw George's obit in Gazette and I'm devastated and heart-broken about his passing! George came into my life at Ponca in 1975...what a fun, cool guy he was! Lived it with gusto, uniqueness and passion! My condolences and prayers are with you all! He will always be fondly remembered!!
