George Theodore Smith's Obituary
George Theodore Smith, Jr., age 91, of Rogers, died Friday, January 31, 2014 in Rogers. He was born May 25, 1922 in Commerce, Oklahoma, the son of George Theodore Smith, Sr. and Violet Clark Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy Jean Smith in 2001; a daughter, Robyn Louise Smith and a son, Allen Lee Smith.
He was retired from the United States Navy. He was an executive housekeeper for Bates Medical Center and loved woodworking and writing poetry. He was a High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Rogers Ward.
He is survived by a daughter, Teddi Lynn Sanchez and her husband Danny of Centerton, Arkansas; two sons, Randel Clark Smith and his wife Carolyn of Rogers, Arkansas and Michael D. “Mick” Smith and his wife Carmen of Rogers, Arkansas; twenty-four grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2600 North Dixieland Road in Rogers with burial to follow at the Fayetteville National Cemetery, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
