Gerald Clayton Gullett's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the Gullett family announces the passing of Gerald Clayton Gullett, fondly known as Jerry. Born on January 26, 1942, in Burkburnett, TX, Jerry was the beloved son of the late Jesse Leroy Gullett and Wanda Louise Steele Gullett. Preceding him in death were his sister, Janie Neeley, and son-in-law, Steve Mabry.
Jerry spent his formative years in Oklahoma, graduating from Warner High School and accumulating an impressive 92 college hours. He embarked on a successful career as the parts and service manager for OTASCO before starting his own business, J&L Service, in Oklahoma City until his well-deserved retirement. After retirement, Jerry moved to Beaver Lake, where he found joy in driving a bus for the Springdale School District. An avid fisherman and skilled bowler, Jerry also had a passion for exploring flea markets, where his keen eye always identified the most unusual items.
A devoted husband and father, Jerry was married to his beloved wife, Liane Dea Newkirk Gullett, for fifty-nine wonderful years. He is survived by his daughters, Lori Mabry, Debra Gullett-Johnson (Bill); brother John Gullett, sister Judy Holder, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Jerry's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 1, at Nelson Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Jerry's name to the Willard Walker Hospice Home, 325 E. Longview St, Fayetteville, AR, 72703. Jerry will be remembered for his love, wisdom, and the joy he brought to those around him. May he rest in peace.
