Gerald Markey's Obituary
Gerald Markey, Sr., 76 of Springdale, AR passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010 in Springdale, AR. He was born September 25, 1933 in Billings, Missouri to Emmitt Patrick Markey and Lillian M. (Taylor) Markey.
He was the former owner and operator of Markey’s Jeweler’s in Harrison, AR, a U. S. Navy veteran of The Korean Conflict, a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springdale, AR, and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by two sons; Jerry Markey, Jr. of Austin, TX, Mike Bivin of Fayetteville, AR, two daughters; Jo Champion of Springdale, AR, Susie Perrine and husband Michael of Longmont, CO, one sister; Mary Harter of Billings, MO, four grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM Tuesday, January 19, 2010 in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with a visitation beginning at 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM.
Funeral mass will be recited at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Billings, MO with Father Rahab Isidor officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Comfort Cemetery near Wheaton, MO.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Special Olympics.
