Gertie Mounce's Obituary
Gertie Mounce age 89 of Delaney, Arkansas died Wednesday, October 22, 2003 in Fayetteville. She was born April 17, 1914 in Delaney, Arkansas the daughter of Robert and Stella (Faubus) VanBrunt. She was a homemaker and a member of Combs Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Mounce, a son, Terry Mounce,two brothers, Omar and Calvin VanBrunt, and a sister Audie Patrick.
Survivors are four sons, John D. Mounce, Lee Mounce, Bob Mounce, and Steve Mounce all of Delaney, Arkansas, four sisters, Ellen Burge of Fayetteville, Jessie Mounce of Springdale, Allena Taylor of Cane Hill and Velma Thornberry of Fayetteville, one brother, Everett VanBrunt of Chelan, Washington, 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
Visitation is Thursday from noon until 9:00 P.M. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville with family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 24, 2003 at Combs Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Clayton officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Crosses.
