Gertrude Louise 'Billie' Vanneman's Obituary
Gertrude Louise “Billie” Vanneman, 98, passed away on December 24, 2014 at Butterfield Trail Village in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Billie was born in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Garman. She graduated from Tyrone High School and attended Goucher College in Baltimore. After her three children were grown, Billie founded The Candy Shop in State College, Pennsylvania and managed the small business for almost 20 years. She moved to Fayetteville in 1993.
Billie is survived by her son Peter and his wife Susan of Fayetteville; son Robert and his wife Susan of San Francisco, California; daughter Gretchen Wolford of Erie, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Reeve Wolford of Washington, D. C., Brian Vanneman of Portland, Oregon, Rebecca McCormick and husband Michael of Erie, Pennsylvania, and Megan Vanneman and husband Rodrigo Noriega of San Francisco, California; and two great-grandchildren, Sam Wolford of Washington, D. C., and Louisa McCormick of Erie, Pennsylvania.
Burial will be at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 224 North East Street, Fayetteville, Arkansas 72701.
