Gilbert Artie Campbell's Obituary
Gilbert Artie Campbell, 86, of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, passed away on February 15, 2025 in the comfort of his home. He was born on July 27, 1938, to Gaius and Verla (Doolittle) Campbell in Webster City, Iowa.
Gil grew up in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He showed the Grand Champion Hampshire Hog at the 1956 Iowa State Fair and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1957. Gilbert spent most of his career as a welder and in 1979 purchased the Bentonville Ornamental Iron Shop in Bentonville, Arkansas, which he operated for 28 years. Gil loved his wife and family, John Deere tractors, and shooting skeet. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rogers, Arkansas, where he served as a trustee. He was also a member of Bella Vista Sportsman Club.
Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Morris Campbell, Don Campbell, Charlie Campbell, and Paul Campbell.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen Campbell; two sons, Curtis Campbell (wife, Karen) and Scott Campbell (wife, Barbara); grandchildren, Christopher Campbell, Laurel Burrows (husband, D.J.), Victoria Hayden (husband, Drew), Josh Campbell, MacKenzie Armstrong, and Alexis Armstrong; and two great-grandchildren, Everett Burrows, and Knox Burrows. He is also survived by one brother, Bob Campbell; three sisters, Marie Christensen, Yvonne Rasmussen, and Sandra Napier; one brother-in-law, Douglas Armstrong; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gil’s memorial will be held on, Monday, February 24, 2025, with visitation 10-11am and service to follow at 11am, in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rogers, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gilbert’s memory may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
