Glen Dale Rouse's Obituary
Glen Dale Rouse, 69, of Fayetteville died June 25, 2010, at Washington Regional Medical Center. Dale was born Dec. 25, 1940, in Fayetteville to Glen and Helen Mabry Rouse.
Dale owned Warford Auto Wreckers since 1978 and operated the Flying R Ranch. He enjoyed working with cattle and always had a herd on his farm. His first jobs were driving trucks, working for the Washington County Road Dept., and teaching heavy equipment classes at the vocational school in Springdale. He attended school in Fayetteville and Greenland.
He was actively involved with the Ozark Cattlemen’s Association and was a past president. He enjoyed cooking and could always be counted on to cook the brisket for the OCA food booth at the Washington County Fair. Dale also served on the Wheeler Fire Department Board of Directors and was active in helping with benefits for them.
Dale will be missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife Loise West McGuire Rouse, who he married in 1968. They had three children – Brad Rouse and his wife Rhonda of Fayetteville and grandchildren Lane and Evan Rouse; Leann Rouse Anderson of Houston and grandchildren Christian Showalter and Audra Anderson; and David McGuire of Springdale and grandchildren Brandon and Robby McGuire. Dale is also survived by his sister Joye R. Kelley and her husband Gene of Rogers as well as several loving aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also survived by his brother-in-law Benny West and his children, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Kenneth and Carlene Logue and their children, his mother-in-law Bea Shane, and a host of friends. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Helen Rouse, and several aunts and uncles.
His friend and family will always remember the jokes and laughter they shared with Dale. He will be missed dearly.
Pallbearers will be Richard Swaffar, John Gragg, Lonnie Gragg, Pete Hornsby, Red Yeager, Bob McAllister, Gary Proctor, and Larry Lothes and honorary pallbearers are Floyd Mabry, Jr., Randy Logue, Glenn Kelley, David Mabry, and Donnie Oliver.
The visitation will be Monday, June 28, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. The funeral service, with Bro. Terry Eaton officiating, will be Tuesday, June 29, at 10 a.m at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home Chapel and the burial at Stuckey Cemetery in Johnson.
