Glenda Faye Wylie Carr's Obituary
Glenda Faye Wylie Carr went to be with the Lord at age 83 on July 9, 2024, in Bentonville, Arkansas.
She was born on January 15, 1941, in De Witt, Arkansas.
Glenda, known by her family and close friends as Mimsey, was the life of any party. Mimsey was the consummate host. She loved to break out her themed china, crystal, silver, and tablescapes for all occasions. Her dinner parties rivaled any soiree found in the pages of Southern Living. Mimsey’s Thanksgiving feasts were legendary as were her 4th of July celebrations.
She retired from the United States Postal Service after a long and successful career in management.
Glenda was a lifelong Christian and strong in her faith since her early days at First Baptist Church DeWitt.
She is survived by her daughter Cindy Carr Posey and son-in-law Carroll of Bentonville; daughter Melissa Carr Farrar and son-in-law Steve of Bella Vista; her grandchildren Celeste Posey Cooper (Mitchell) of Bentonville; Grant Posey (Lauren) of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky; Lana Farrar Hartzog (Bobby) of Bella Vista; Alicia Farrar Goodson (Denny) of Benton; Kerri Farrar Ross (Brad) of Prosper, Texas; Andrew Farrar (Tess) of Russellville; London Farrar Hall (Riley) of Fayetteville; and nine great-grandchildren.
Glenda is preceded in death by her parents Cleyburn Mac Wylie and Anna Mae Manis Wylie of DeWitt, and her husband Gerald Carr of Rogers.
Visitation will be 9:00 am – 10:00 am Friday, July 12, 2024, at Moore’s Chapel. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am Friday at Moore’s Chapel with burial to follow in the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
